Interstate 10 At Nine Mile Road (Exit 5) Interchange Project, Escambia County, FL
In spring 2023, FDOT began a $55 million project on Interstate 10 (I-10) at the Nine Mile Road interchange (Exit 5) to replace the existing I-10 overpass. The new overpass will feature increased vertical clearance and accommodate improvements to enhance safety and mobility for this heavily traveled corridor.

The area surrounding Nine Mile Road in Pensacola is a rapidly growing community and home to the expansive Navy Federal Credit Union headquarters. The campus is a major economic engine for Pensacola, and Nine Mile Road is a direct route for the thousands of employees traveling to work daily.
Stakeholder engagement is a vital part of the public information plan for this project. To combat the potential for “stakeholder construction fatigue,” our team is working to incorporate community engagement techniques that deliver the information stakeholders need to make informed travel decisions.
As a liaison for FDOT, ABC Group works daily to provide quick and reliable project updates and information on relevant traffic impacts. In doing so, our personnel are central to maintaining positive community relations and building trust with stakeholders.
